Where Is the Truth?

truthThe law is said to be a search for truth. After more than three decades looking for it, I still haven't found it.

Anyone who's ever watched a good lawyer at work knows facts are not absolute. They can be twisted and turned just about any way we want to suit our needs.

But when facts are filtered, distorted and stretched to bolster one's position, it raises the question we all should be asking in every situation:

Empower Yourself to Choose Peace

Everywhere we turn life demands we make choices. The problem is, no one ever teaches us how to make them, much less expands the pool of possibilities we can choose from.

Though we ostensibly live in a world where we are endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights, including life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, apparently few take it seriously.

Because going our own way isn't easy. Everyone around us is always trying to influence us, telling us what to do, how to do it, what to think, where to go, and just about anything else that pops into their minds.

Then again, we're probably doing the same to them.

No wonder individual choice, and the responsibility that goes with it, is a pipedream. Ours is a world based on conflict and control. And the name of the game is to assert our wills to get and do what we want.

Are You Thinking of Jumping into the Battle, Too?

In case you haven't noticed, there's a battle brewing, and the pot is beginning to boil.

People are feeling enough is enough on a whole range of issues involving government, social responsibility, and the influence of money and power over the conduct and course of our common affairs.

Feeling the Vibration of Peace

peaceToday I hope you will allow me to share some thoughts on a topic that is quite elusive to many of us – peace. I am not referring to the peace of nations, though the cloud of international strife hangs over our world, threatening to grow darker with each passing moment. No, the peace of which I speak is that which pervades us all, if we will but call upon it to come into our lives.

Peace. Pax. Pas. By so many names it is known around the world. Yet so few of us truly know peace. Yes, we have periods without personal conflict, but truly, is that peace? Do those times mean we are at peace within ourselves? Or are those moments we think of as peace just temporary lulls in the storms of the outer world?
